Paysall had a working payments prototype and a hard problem: payouts ran across several wallets and reconciliation was a nightly spreadsheet job. The constraint was never throughput — finance had to trust every number, and the prototype made a clean audit trail almost impossible.

The challenge

Paysall needed a platform that scaled from launch day through enterprise contracts — without a rewrite at every inflection point. Early bets on architecture and observability had to hold.

Our approach

We rebuilt the ledger before touching the dashboards. The payout engine was kept deliberately boring — an explicit state machine with every transition logged — over a cleverer async design, because "we can explain exactly what happened to this rupee" was worth more to them than shaving milliseconds. Reconciliation moved from a nightly manual export to an automated overnight job. The lesson we'd repeat: spend the early weeks on the data model, not the UI.

What we built

A production-grade stack designed around Next.js + Node.js, wired with CI/CD, automated tests, and cloud-native infra. Domain-specific flows were co-designed with stakeholders each sprint.

Impact

Scaled to 50k+ monthly transactions within 6 months of launch.

In their words
The reconciliation piece was the whole reason we hired them, and it's the thing that finally works — month-end used to eat three days and a lot of spreadsheet swearing. They talked us out of a cleverer async design and into a ledger we could audit line by line.
