Grace App is a two-sided marketplace with real-time chat and escrow. Manual order coordination had stopped scaling past a few hundred vendors, and the founders needed the platform to keep buyers and vendors in sync without a human in the loop.

The challenge

Grace App needed a platform that scaled from launch day through enterprise contracts — without a rewrite at every inflection point. Early bets on architecture and observability had to hold.

Our approach

We built the marketplace around the messaging and escrow flow rather than bolting chat on afterwards — orders, chat and payment state share one event log, so a buyer and a vendor always see the same status. Realtime runs over WebSockets with a polling fallback for flaky mobile networks, which is most of them.

What we built

A production-grade stack designed around Flutter + Node.js, wired with CI/CD, automated tests, and cloud-native infra. Domain-specific flows were co-designed with stakeholders each sprint.

Impact

Reduced order cycle time by 42% with automated workflows.

In their words
Best handover I've had from an agency — our engineers were productive in the repo on day one. Not flawless; a couple of estimates slipped. But they flagged the slip the same week instead of at the invoice, and that's most of what I want from a partner.
